Zora Louise Florek

Zora Louise Florek, 83 of Hartford Township, passed away Thursday, Apr. 23, 2015 at Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community, South Haven.

Zora was born Nov. 13, 1931 in Paw Paw, the daughter of Earl and Ruth (Johnson) Peterson.

Zora was a 1950 graduate of Lawton High School. She went on to get her L.P.N. and retired after many years of employment at LakeView Community Hospital in Paw Paw.

While working at the hospital, she met Albert Joseph Florek and, in 1961, they were married. Albert passed away on Aug. 30, 2000. Also preceding her in passing was an infant sister, Alice and two brothers: Archie and Garold, "Bob” or “Pete."

Zora is survived by two sisters: Virginia Bowlby of Lawton and Velma Davis of Niles; several nieces and nephews and friend and neighbor, Ed and Eunice Holland.

The family will welcome friends from 1 to 2 P.M. on Monday, Apr. 27 at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where at 2 P.M., a celebration of life service will be held. Zora will be laid to rest in Breedsville Cemetery. Memorial donations in Zora's name may be made to Save a Stray or any animal shelter.
