Willie Albert Mize

Willie Albert Mize was born Jan. 2, 1933, in Senath, Mo., the son of Clyde and Fannie (Mattox) Mize. He passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 21, 2019, at his home.

On Jan. 17, 1981, Willie and Connie Hozian were united in marriage. She survives along with two sons; Joe Mize of Collinsville, Ill., and Eric Mize of Adrian; numerous grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, his loving puppy, Lilee Miz, and a sister, Linda Tosh of South Haven.

Willie was preceded in passing by a son, Billy Lloyd Mize; his parents; and two sisters: Mary Magdalen and Helen Mize.

Willie was proud of the time he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Mize Blueberry Farm in Covert for many years, owned Mize excavating and in his spare time loved to go fishing. Most importantly, for thirty eight years, was the time spent with his wife Connie.

As to Willie's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a time of sharing memories of Willie's life from 3-7 p.m. June 5, at the Brush Creek Apartments in Lawrence.
