William Lawrence Colgren, Iii

William Lawrence Colgren III of Lawrence passed away at his home Tuesday, March 13, 2018. “Larry” as he was known, was born on March 30, 1964, in Kalamazoo, the son of William Jr. and Sally (Monk) Colgren, both of whom preceded him in passing.

On Dec. 23, 2014, he married Pamela Shafer. Larry was first employed at Woodhams Ford of South Haven for 10 years and then went to work for 23 years as a maintenance man at the Intermediate School District in Lawrence. He was a die-hard Detroit Lions and Tigers fan, enjoyed playing his guitar, was an avid golfer, and loved playing with his dog, Penny. He treasured time spent with his wife, Pam, out in their boat fishing.

Larry is survived by his wife, Pamela; a sister, Deb (Mike) Schlieter; two stepdaughters, Faith and Autumn Shimer; four nieces and nephews, and many other family members and friends.

As to Larry's wishes, there will be no visitation. A celebration of life service will commence at 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. The Rev. Jason Bull of the Freshwater Church in Paw Paw will officiate. Larry will then be laid to rest next to his parents at Colburn Cemetery in Arlington Township.
