Vivian Mae Godgiben was born Dec. 10, 1942, in Tyronza, Ark., one of 11 children born to Charles and Alta (McHorney) Mitchell. Her parents and four of her siblings have preceded her in passing.
Vivian passed away at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017. She loved singing and playing her guitar, doing word search puzzles, going to the casino and eating Chinese food. She liked watching The Walking Dead and especially loved Daryl. Vivian was known as everyone's mom.
As to Vivian's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family and friends will gather for a time of fellowship at the Hartford United Methodist Church beginning at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the family. The Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford has been entrusted with the funeral arrangements. Vivian is survived by her three children: Carolyn (Ralph) Boyer, Linda Godgiben and Bobby (Angie Stockton) Godgiben all of Hartford; nine grandchildren: sixteen great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters.
