Tiney Celetta Kroeg

Tiney Celetta Kroeg, 79 of Lawrence passed away suddenly Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2015, at home.

Tiney was born Dec. 1, 1935, in Bells, Tenn., the daughter of Ralph and Mary (Bolton) Rininger, both of whom preceded her in passing. The family moved to the South Haven area when she was 5 years old. In 1953 the family moved to Lawrence, where she would spend the rest of her life.

Tiney married Richard "Dick" Kroeg on June 5, 1955, and for the last 60 years, they enjoyed each other's love and devotion. Tiney opened up Tiney's Beauty Salon in the back of Dick's Barber Shop in Lawrence and operated it for a number of years until health issues caused her to retire.

Dick survives, along with a son, Rick (Cheryl) Kroeg and their son, Travis, of Charlotte; three brothers: James (Sandy) Rininger of Hart; Ray (Jane) Rininger of El Cajon, Calif.; and Charles (Diane) Rininger of San Diego; a sister-in-law, Janice Wilson of Galesburg; two brothers-in-law, Elmer Kroeg of Paw Paw and Robert Kroeg of Galesburg; and several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m.-noon Friday, Oct. 9, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Paw Paw, where the service to honor her memory will commence at noon. As to her wishes, cremation will follow the service. Memorial donations in Tiney's name may be made to the Arthritis Association or to the church.
