Tamara Jean Mendoza

Tamara Jean Mendoza, 60, of Hartford passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023 at home.

Tamara was born Oct. 21, 1963, in Benton Harbor, the daughter of Louis Carroll and Alice Woodard. She was employed at Great Lakes Eye Care, Memorial Hospital in St. Joseph, as a waitress at the Panel Room and Waffle House and with the cities of Hartford and Bangor.

Tamara is survived by her husband, Ramon Mendoza; two sons: Zachary Kincaid and Matthew (Stephanie) Kincaid; a grandson, Colton; a granddaughter, Peyton; her mother, Alice (Jack) Lavanway; her father, Louis (Donna) Carroll; and a brother, Scott Lavanway.

Tamara is preceded in death by a brother, Louis Carroll; a niece, Venessa Ann Garcia; father-in-law, Ben Mendoza; and a brother-in-law, John Winkle.

The family will welcome friends from 10-11 a.m., on Monday, Nov. 20, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford, where a Mass of Christian Burial ceremony will be celebrated at 11 a.m., with Father German Perez-Diaz officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be made to the family.
