Sylvia Jeannene Crest

Sylvia Jeannene Crest was born April 22, 1945, in Dell, Ark., the daughter of Marlin and Sylvia (Dollins) Traughber. Sylvia passed away at the age 72 at Hanson Hospice Center in Lincoln Township on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2018.

Sylvia was formerly employed at Salutos Pizza in Benton Harbor and as a cook at the Panel Room Restaurant in Hartford. She loved watching the birds, especially Humming Birds. She had a green thumb in that she could grow anything and "she simply loved".

The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, Feb. 14, at the Hartford Church of God, where a celebration of life service to honor Sylvia's memory will follow at noon, with the Rev. Rob Cheek officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hanson Hospice Center. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements. Sylvia is survived by two daughters: Tracy Crest of Hartford and Laura Crest of Benton Harbor; four grandchildren; Zac Crest, George Crest, Shontai (Jacob) Kuhens, and Michael (Stephanie) Fain; four great-grandchildren, and ten siblings: Charles, Verlin, Doyle, Carolyn, Jim, Jack, Rick, Nelda, Ali and Tim.

Sylvia was preceded in passing by her husband; Donald, a son; David Crest, and her parents.
