Susan Marie Shelton

Susan Marie Shelton was called home Wednesday, July 21, 2021, at 4:14 p.m., at the age of 68. Her children and husband were gathered by her side.

She was born on May 13, 1953, to June and Alfred Milnickel. She was married to Guy Shelton on May 9, 1998. She was a devoted and loving mother and wife. She was also a hard worker. She was retired from Summit Home in Watervliet.

In her past times, she enjoyed reading, playing Candy Crush, and keeping a clean house. She was happiest spending time with and talking to her family and friends.

Susan is survived by her husband, Guy Shelton of Watervliet; her four daughters: Angie (Andy) Cole of Paragould, Ark., Sherry (James) McElroy of Grenada, Miss., Amy (Chris) Szucs of Winter Haven, Fla., and Jenny (Scott) Staggs of Bloomfield, Mo. She is also survived by three stepchildren: Tony Shelton, Sherry (Dave) Mosher and Lee Ann (Billy) Ashley, all of Watervliet; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, June Deering; and father, Alfred Milnickel.

As per Susan’s wishes, cremation will take place. A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Friday, July 23, at Lee Ann’s home, 69497 68th Ave., Watervliet.
