Steven Lugo Mireles

Steven Lugo Mireles, 68, of Hartford passed away Sunday, July 24, 2016, with his family by his side, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph.

Steven was born July 2, 1948, in San Antonio, the son of Geronimo Sr. and Sara (Lugo) Mireles, both of whom preceded him in passing. He was also preceded in passing by three brothers: Pedro Ledesma, Felix Mireles and Geronimo Mireles Jr.

Steven was first employed by Sunstrand of Dowagiac, then by Hilltop Orchards, where he worked for over 10 years and earned the title of foreman, and was employed over 15 years with Point O' Woods Country Club as a groundskeeper.

Steven is survived by his wife, Rufina; a son, Steven Mireles Jr. of Hartford; a daughter, Cynthia (Abel) Munoz of Bangor; three grandchildren; and siblings: Julio Ledesma, Manuel Mireles, Fidel Mireles, Jose Soto, Ruben Mireles, Margaret Balli, Gloria Reyna and Felipe Mireles.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 27, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford, where the Mass of Christian burial to celebrate his memory will commence at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 28, with the Rev. Robert Flickinger as celebrant. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford Township. Memorial donations in Steven's name may be made to Hospice at Home or the American Cancer Society.
