Steven Allen Efting, 50 of Bangor, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 in South Haven, as a result of injuries sustained in a motor-vehicle accident.
Steve was born April 5, 1962 in Watervliet, the son of Ross and Vickie (Schaus) Efting. After he graduated from High School in 1980, Steve went on to become part owner of Efting's Eggery and worked there for over 25 years. More recently, he worked as a department manager at Hardings in Bangor and owned and operated his own vendor business.
He married the former Penny Mead on May 15, 1982 and they were together for over 30 years. They had two children Shana (26), and Mark (21). A loving husband and father, he worked hard to provide for his family. Steve enjoyed fishing, was an excellent water skier and loved riding both his three-wheeler and his Harley.
Steve is survived by his wife, Penny; his daughter, Shana; his son, Mark; his parents, Ross and Vickie of Bangor; a brother, Greg of Bangor and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members.
The family will welcome friends from 6 to 8 P.M.; Monday, January 21 at the Hartford Federated Church, where the funeral services to celebrate his life will commence at 11 A.M.; Tuesday, January 22. Pastor David Gilbert will serve as officiant. A private burial will follow the services at Thomas Cemetery, Bangor. The family requests memorial donations be made to the Hartford Federated Church.
