Stanley Mark Morseau

November 14, 1945 — September 8, 2022

On Wednesday, Sept. 8th, 2022, Stanley Mark Morseau passed away peacefully with his family by his side.

Stan was born on Nov. 14th, 1945, in Hartford, before moving to Ypsilanti, where he began his career as a roofer and waterproofer. Stanley was a citizen of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians, where he served on Tribal Council as well as chairman of the Elders Council. Throughout his lifetime, Stanley devoted himself by advocating for Indigenious rights as well as dancing, drumming, singing, and sharing his voice as a powwow emcee. Stan could also be seen “hanging on the fence”, watching and coaching baseball for many years.
