Sandra Joane Dimas, 49 of Hartford, passed away suddenly Monday, Nov. 24, 2014, at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph.
Sandra was born May 11, 1965 at the U.S. Army Hospital in Verdun, France, the daughter of James and Irmgard (Ubell) Reed. She was a 1983 graduate of Lawrence High School and had been employed with the United States Postal Service, Hartford Post Office, since 1988. Sandra was preceded in passing by her father, James Reed, Sr.
Sandra married David Dimas, the love of her life, on August 21, 1993. Sandy always had a great sense of humor and wit and was strong, kind, generous, fun-loving and talented. In her spare time, she loved to draw and was an amazing artist. She also liked tending to her garden, but her most precious times were spent with her children, whom she loved with all of her heart.

Sandra is survived by her husband, David Dimas; three children: Christopher James, David Michael and Kaitlyn Elisa, all at home; her mother, Irmgard; three siblings: James (Joan) Reed of N.Y., Betty Reed of Lawrence and Donna "Cookie" McIntyre of Paw Paw; two nephews: Joseph (Karen) and Jeremy (Katherine); a niece, Veronica; two grandnephews and a grandniece: Derek, Aleesya and Sean; four aunts: Josephine, Pat, Belle and Chub; an uncle, Jerry; numerous cousins and many other family members.
The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. with Monsignor Leo Cartagena as celebrant. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Memorial donations in Sandra's name may be made to the family. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
