Ruth Ann Garrod

Ruth Ann Garrod was born Aug. 31, 1964, in Kalamazoo. She was one of three children born to William and Irene (Gillete) Garrod. Ruth passed away on Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Bronson Methodist Hospital.

Ruth worked at numerous places throughout her life. She was formerly employed at Lake Michigan College, Duffy Motts and Coloma Frozen Foods. She loved working in her garden and taking long walks.

The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed by a celebration of life service to honor Ruth's memory. The Rev. Glen Cowles of East Arlington Baptist Church and Chaplain Larry Avery will officiate. Ruth will be laid to rest in Colburn Cemetery, Arlington Township. Ruth is survived by her sister, June Veling; a nephew, Robert (Kari) Veling; and a great-nephew, Logan Veling all of Bangor; along with numerous other family members.

Ruth was preceded in passing by her parents; a brother, Bill Garrod; and a brother-in-law, Arthur Veling.
