Ruth Ilene Brink, 87, of Lawrence passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2021, at her home.
Ruth was born Aug. 30, 1934, in Pana, Ill., the daughter of Lawrence and Lelia (Brown) Ishmael, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing were her husband, Paul Brink; a daughter, Debra Griffin; and two sons, Gary Brink and Frederick Brink.
Ruth was formerly employed at the Lawrence Laudromat, and also was a sales person and consultant for Amway. She always kept an open house for the neighborhood kids. But, her most precious times were spent with her family, and she always lent a helping hand in babysitting her grandchildren.
Ruth is survived by a daughter, Mina DeLong of Battle Creek, Mich.; a brother, Charles (Genie) Ishmael of Niles; and numerous other family members.
Ruth has been cremated, and a memorial service to honor her memory will take place at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, at First Church of God in St. Joseph, with Chuck Ishmael officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name can be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. The family has entrusted Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford with arrangements.
