Ronnie Fill Burleson

Ronnie Fill ‘Ron’ Burleson, 72, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 30, 2023, at home.

Ron was born April 22, 1951, in Coloma, the son of George and Irene (McFarland) Burleson, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are a brother, James McFarland; and two sisters, Glinda Gilliam and Linda Green.

Ron served his country in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed with A&B Packing Equipment and served as a commissioner on the Hartford City Council for many years.

Ron married the former Rhonda Tyra on Nov. 9, 1975, and she survives, along with three sons: Doug, Shawn (Beth) and Lance (Peris); grandchildren: Andrew, Brianna, Saige, Seraiah and Aaliyah; a brother, Donnie Burleson; two sisters, Wanda Woodley and Pat Williams; a special nephew, Larry Gilliam; and his horses: Teez, Tucker and Elsa.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m., on Wednesday, Aug. 2, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where a service to celebrate Ron’s life will take place at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 3, with military rites to be conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team.
