Ronald Lee Jensen

Ronald Lee Jensen, 86, of Hartford passed away Tuesday, March 18, 2014, at home.

Per Ron's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life service to honor Ron's memory will be at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where the family will receive friends from noon until the time of service. The Rev. Jeffrey Williams of Hartford United Methodist Church will officiate. Ron's ashes will be laid to rest in Watervliet City Cemetery with full military rites. Ron was born Aug. 13, 1927, in Grand Rapids, the son of John and Gladys (Guinard) Jensen. He attended school in Watervliet. He served his country proudly in the Navy during World War II and in the Army during the Korean War. He was a life member of American Legion Stoddard Post 93 in Hartford and Hess Eastman Post 174 in Lawrence and a life member of the Van Buren Sportsman's Club. Ron was the proud owner and operator of the first Hartford Auto Repair, retiring in 1992. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, enjoying deer camp with his son's and longtime friends.

Ron is survived by his wife, Anita; three daughters: Ronelle Jensen, Carla (Norman) Nelson and Brenda Bard; a son, Bradley Jensen; two stepdaughters, Janette Ashley and Lorre (Harley) Darnell; two stepsons, Gregory Brady and Steven (Dawn) Brady; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and other family members and friends.

Ron was preceded in passing by his parents; two infant children, Carol Jean Jensen and Ronald Lee Jensen Jr.; his first wife, Carol Lee Schmidt-Jensen; and stepdaughter, Kathryn Brady-Bauer.
