Robert Lee Sturgeon, Sr.

Robert Lee Sturgeon, Sr., 68 of Keeler, passed away suddenly Sunday, May 19, 2013 at the home of Marcia (Robert) Dunn, where he was cared for by his family until his passing.

Robert was born July 1, 1944 in Hartford, the son of Bert, Sr. and Geraldine (Day) Sturgeon, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were his wife, Charlie; a brother, Bert Sturgeon, Jr.; two sisters, Barbara Lewis and Maria Lewis and a step-father, Mitchell Lewis.

Robert is survived by a son, Robert Sturgeon, Jr. of Benton Harbor; a grandson, Deven Scott Sanders of Coloma; ten siblings, Sylvia (Gary) Hall of St. Joseph, Phillip Sturgeon of Indianapolis, Louella Lewis of Dowagiac, Ronald (Theresa) Sturgeon of Benton Harbor, Marjorie Young and Thomas Sturgeon, both of Dowagiac, Adeline (Terry) Dixon of Hartford, Otis Lewis of Indianapolis, Peggy McNew and Marcia (Robert) Dunn, all of Keeler; a step-son, Robert Thompson, one step granddaughter and one step great-grandson, all of Watervliet.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday; May 22, 2013 from 6 to 8 P.M. at the Calvin Funeral Home. The service to honor Robert's memory will be held at 10 A.M. on Thursday; May 23, 2013 at the funeral home. Robert will be laid to rest, with military rites, in Rush Lake Indian Cemetery, Hartford Township.
