Robert Gendron, better known by “Bobby G'' passed away unexpectedly on Feb. 25, 2022, at the age of 54 at his home in Hartford.
Bobby was born July 3, 1967, in Watervliet, to Robert and Donna (Strand) Gendron. He graduated from Hartford High School in 1985. He continued his education attending the following: Albion College, Grand Valley State University, Western Michigan University, and Central Michigan University where he obtained his masters degree in education leadership.
Bobby G spent over 29 years of his life in the education field holding numerous positions from educator to administrator. He was employed at Allegan High School at the time of his passing as well as L&L Driving School. Bob loved being a driver's education instructor. He also recently started classes to obtain his EMT Certification.
When asked to describe Bobby G, God fearing, life of the party, someone who never met a stranger, someone who lived life to its fullest and lived to the beat of his own drum. Bob always puts others first. These are just a few comments from those who loved him. Bob was a man of many talents and interests, he enjoyed cooking especially BBQ where he received numerous awards including Michigan Rookie of the Year in 2011 and top 5% in the nation in 2011 and 2012, and riding his Harley motorcycle. Bob was a member of the ILMC out of Michigan City, Ind.
Bob was a loving husband, father, son, brother and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Angela (Weston) whom he married Dec. 13, 2014; his father, Robert Gendron; his sister, Laurie Gendron; his children: Robby (Cassie) Gendron, Katie (David) Rodriguez, both of Ludington, Mich., Zach, Colin, Ariana and Emma Birkhead, all of Hartford, and Adam (Bre) Borah of Bangor; his grandchildren: Remi, Deren, Brayden, Liley, Riley, Ruthie and Derrick. He is predeceased by his brother, Micheal Gendron; his mother, Donna Gendron; as well as his grandparents.
His celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. April 16, at New Beginnings Church in Bangor, with a luncheon to follow at His Place Community Center in Hartford. Cremation has already taken place.
