Richard Glenn Slocum

Richard Glenn Slocum, 45, of Lawrence passed away suddenly at his home Friday night, June 14, 2013.

A celebration of life service to honor Richard's life will be at 1 p.m. Friday, June 21, at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Heflin of the First Church of God of Decatur will officiate. Richard will be laid to rest in Colburn Cemetery, Arlington Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. Richard was born in Paw Paw on Sept. 11, 1967, to Glenn and Judy (Rasmussen) Slocum. He worked alongside his father in the family lime business. He was also employed at numerous propane companies as a truck driver. He loved tinkering on cars and was always trying to figure out how many things work. His passions were hunting and fishing.

His father, Glenn, passed away Sept. 11, 1997. Surviving Richard are his wife, Sheila; a son, Keith Slocum; and a daughter, Nicole Slocum, all of Lawrence; his mother, Judy, of Bangor; two sisters, Rhonda (Randy) Coffinger of Gobles and Robin (William) Beeching of Bangor; and numerous nieces and nephews.
