Rachel P. Perez

Rachel P. Perez was born Feb. 22, 1939, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Ralph and Guadalupe Perez. Rachel passed away at Spectrum Health Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph, on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Rachel helped her husband with his construction business for many years.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Joe M. Perez: five daughters: Christy K. Ortega, Guadalupe Perez Herron, Sandra M. Perez, Linda M. Balderramas, and Sheila A. Perez; twelve grandchildren: Rachel I. Perez, Jessica M. Brady, Kayla M. Reyna, George W. Schaults IV, Aaron P. Perez, Stephanie A. Doorn, Michael J. Balderramas, Robert J. Reyna, Marcos R. Reyna, Gabriel J. Balderramas, Treveon Paquin, and Shane T. Herron; too many great-grandchildren to count; two sisters: Nena Perez and Delores Perez; a brother, Nonnie Perez; and numerous other family members and friends.

Rachel was preceded in passing by two sons: Robert Perez Jr. and Paul Perez; her parents; and a sister, Rosie Cantu.

The family will welcome friends from noon-1 p.m. on Monday, May 9, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where a celebration of life service to honor Rachel’s memory will commence at 1 p.m. with Pastor James Davis officiating. Rachel will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home of Hartford with helping with the arrangements.
