Phyllis Idell Deford

Phyllis Idell DeFord, 81, of Hartford passed away Sept. 2, 2017. She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Clara (Miller) Slesnick; and her husband, William A. DeFord Jr.

She leaves behind her siblings: Roberta Landberg of New York, Shirley Rainford of Indiana, Carol Schuldt of California, Dr. Toby (June) Mayer of California, Myron (Darney) Mayer of California, and Sharon (Thomas) Murtaugh of California.

She also leaves behind her beloved children: William (Linda) DeFord of Hartford, Robert DeFord of Bangor, Terry (Debra) DeFord of Hartford, and Michelle (Joseph) Shouse of Hartford.

She was the blessed grandmother of eight cherished grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation services will be held at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, with a celebration of life held at the Hartford Sportsman's Club in Hartford following. Those wishing to leave memorial condolences for the family may do so at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
