Paul Taulbee

Paul Taulbee, age 71, passed peacefully at home in Keeler on Thursday, December 14, 2017. Paul was born on January 12, 1946 in Vancleve, Ky., the son of Menifee and Virgie Taulbee.

Paul grew up with his sisters and brothers in Vancleve, Ky. and Middletown, Oh., then moved to Michigan in 1990 at the age of 45. Paul could be found working on the blueberry farms in Van Buren County or turning a wrench on a car to help out a friend. He loved to fish and often spoke about all the fishing he had done in the lakes around the area. Paul had a good heart, soft blue eyes and an opinion on just about anything. He listened to country music and followed wrestling from a young age and always enjoyed a good conversation with a friend.

Paul is survived by his loving girlfriend of 23 years and end of life caretaker, Ruby Ashley of Keeler; three daughters: Marty Taulbee, Paula Lewis and Bonnie Woolery, all of Frankfort, Ky.; mother, Virgie Taulbee of Middletown, Oh.; sisters: Patsy Holcomb of Navarre, Fla., Dora Cornele and Nell Hatfield, both of Franklin, Oh., Doris Sheppard of Hamilton, Oh. and Peggy Rice of Blanchester, Oh. and two brothers: Robert Taulbee of Gratis, Oh. and Lloyd Taulbee of Lynchburg, Oh.

Paul is preceded in passing by his father, Menifee Taulbee in 1983 and two brothers: Everett Taulbee in 1996 and Eugene Taulbee in 1959.

A viewing for his friends and family was held on December 19th at Noon at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. The funeral began at 2 P.M. with a procession to his final resting place in Keeler Cemetery immediately following the service.
