Paul Donald Tarantino was born April 15, 1943, in Benton Harbor, one of six children born to Paul and Bernice (Cook) Tarantino, both of whom preceded him in passing. Paul passed away at home on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016.
The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. Mass of Christian burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford.
The Rev. German Perez-Diaz will be the celebrant. As to Paul's wishes, cremation will follow the service. His ashes will be placed in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, in the spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church or Reverence Home Health and Hospice. Memorial condolences for the family can be left at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.
On Aug. 20, 1966, Paul was united in marriage to Sandra Arndt and she survives; along with their four children: Rodney (Jennifer) Tarantino of St. Louis and their family, Ryan, Max and Alex; Jody (Patrick) Phillips of Edwardsburg and their family, Julianne, Lexie and Ryan; Julie (Brian Chamness) Tarantino of Buchanan; and Randall (Kim) Tarantino of Kalamazoo and their family Ella and Abby. He is also survived by two sisters, Judy (Gary) Maynard of St. Joseph and Linda (Tom) Finch of Williamsburg, Mich.; three brothers: Ross (Bunnie) Tarantino of Mound, Minn., Jerry (Karen) Tarantino of Hartford and Tom (Debbie) Tarantino of Coloma; and numerous other family members and friends.
Paul served his country proudly in the U.S. Army. He was an aircraft mechanic for Whirlpool Corp., retiring in June of 2004, after 31 years of employment. Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time in New Mexico, where he and Sandra would reside for many months during the year.
