Patricia June Slonina

Patricia June Slonina, 81, of Lawrence, passed away on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo.

Patricia was born June 26, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Patrick and Hazel (Hansen) Gnoske, both of whom precede her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by her husband; Henry Slonina just over two months ago.

Patricia and Henry moved here to Michigan after she retired from Ma Bell in 1993. She had been an employee there for a number of years. They both became faithful members of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford.

Patricia was most proud of her family which consists of her two children: Katherine (Michael) of Andover, New Jersey and Richard (Robina) of Jacksonville, Florida, two grandchildren; Mark (Kate) and Katelyn, a great-grandson; Peter and her sister; Phyllis Ruebenson of Chicago, Illinois.

As to Patricia’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at Noon on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford with Father Fabio Garzon as the Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, please give any donations to the church. The family has entrusted the Leonard Funeral Home in Lawrence with handling the arrangements.
