Nyle Francis Bisbee

July 24, 1935 — October 4, 2016


Nyle Francis Bisbee was born July 24, 1935, in Coloma. He was the son of Augustus and Iola (Burr) Bisbee. Nyle passed away at his son’s home in Watervliet on Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2016. In addition to his parents, Nyle was preceded in death by his wife, Anna; and a brother, Terry Bisbee.


The family will welcome friends from 10-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 10, 2016, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed at 11 a.m. by a celebration of life service to honor Nyle's memory. The Rev. Nicholas Balanowski of First Assembly of God in St. Joseph will officiate. Nyle will be laid to rest next to his wife, Anna, in Fairview Memorial Cemetery, Watervliet. Military rites will be conducted by the North Berrien Military Rites Team. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Coloma American Legion Post 362, of which he was a longtime member. Nyle is survived by four children: Adrian Croft of Watervliet, Ruth (Toby) Holder of Dowagiac, Nyla (Wayne) Ebrecht of Benton Harbor, and Nyle (Kim) Bisbee of Hartford. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Peggy Harris of Hartford; a brother, Gene (Mary) Bisbee of Hartford; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.


Nyle served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a gifted mechanic and utilized his skills as a heavy equipment mechanic for Canonie Construction and was a member of Operating Engineers’ Local 324. Nyle retired from Tom Smith Tractor, Hartford, in 2005.
