Norma Lee Wright

Norma Lee Wright was born on May 16, 1951, in Eloise, Fla. The daughter of Nathan and Sarah (Adams) Wright, she spent most of her life in Van Buren County.

Sadly, Norma passed away on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022, at her home in Sister Lakes at the age of 71. She had been bravely fighting a long battle with severe chronic illnesses until the angels took her home.

Norma worked as a restaurant server for most of her life in Michigan and Florida, and made many life-long friends along the way. She worked hard until she was 69 years old, and made a modest living, but was a grateful person and would give away her last dollar to someone else in need. She loved spending time with her big, tight-knit family, who will miss her dearly until we are all rejoined again in Heaven.

Norma is survived by a daughter, Tina King of Florida; two sons: Darrell (Sherry) King of Sister Lakes, and Roger (Nicole) King of Swartz Creek, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margaret (Darrel) Slinkard and Ramona (Steve) Payne; and a brother, Louie (Gail) Wright. She was preceded in passing by a daughter, Amanda Dawn Lindley; her parents; and three siblings: Betty Friel, Nathan Wright and Marinel Wright.

As to Norma’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a celebration of life service to honor her memory will be at 6 p.m., on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where the family will receive visitors from 5-6 p.m., until the time of service. A private family burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation may do so to the family.
