Nary Frank Johnson of Lawton passed away Monday July 13, 2015, at White Oaks in Lawton.
As to Nary's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, July 18, 2015, followed by a memorial service to honor Nary's memory. Pastor Steven Bisbee of Hartford General Baptist Church will officiate. After the service, his ashes will be placed in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, with military rites by Decatur VFW Celery City Post 6248. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to White Oaks assisted living or Decatur VFW Celery City Post 6248. Nary was born May 25, 1926, in Hartford, the son of Nary and Mabel (Ashman) Johnson, both of whom preceded him in passing. He was also preceded by his wife, Kathryn; and three sisters: Helen Richardson, Verna Wesendorph and Aseneth Wilder.
Nary served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He was an amazing brick layer. He had his own dairy farm for many years and was a life member of the Decatur VFW.
Nary is survived by his two sons, Gerald (Patricia) Johnson of Decatur and Tom (Helen) Johnson of Cedar Bluff, Va.; five grandchildren: John, Aimee, Kitty, Crissy and Bridgette; and five great-grandchildren.
