Nancy Jean Fast

Nancy Jean Fast of Hartford went to be with the Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018, at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph, at the young age of 60. She was born on Aug. 17, 1957, in South Haven, the daughter of Arthur and Leona Mielke, both of whom preceded her in passing.

On July 9, 1982, Nancy was united in marriage to Denny Fast. While living in Nashville, Tenn., Nancy was employed as a bartender at some of the local night spots, several years in banking and then as a secretary for Jewell Roofing Company. After moving back to Michigan, she attended both the Peace Lutheran Church of South Haven and the Hope Lutheran Church of Hartford. She loved the times she went fishing with her friends from Paw Paw, doing art work, and crafts of all kinds, and especially loved to cook chocolate chip nut cookies for her husband and treats for her family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Denny; a sister, Ann; and many other family members and friends.

Nancy's family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon on Saturday, March 10, at the Hope Lutheran Church, 205 Bennett Ave., Hartford, where the celebration of life service will commence at noon. The Rev. Frederick S. Adrian will officiate. Nancy will be laid to rest with a private service in North Shore Memory Gardens, Hagar Township. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the church.
