Mayfair Irene Ishoy

Mayfair Irene Ishoy was born Sept. 12, 1930, in Benton Harbor, to John and Gladys (Guinard) Jensen. She passed away suddenly at Lakeland Hospital, Watervliet, on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016.

Mayfair worked for the phone company as a switchboard operator for many years and retired from the Hartford Public Library after many more years of employment.

Mayfair married Donald Ishoy in 1951, and he passed away suddenly in 1968. She was also preceded by a brother, Ronald Jensen.

Mayfair is survived by three nieces: Ronelle Jensen, Carla Nelson and Brenda Bard; a nephew, Bradley Jensen; three great nieces: Brandi Stephens, Jacqui Perrone and Hope Warner; two stepnieces, Janette Ashley and Lorre Darnell; and two stepnephews, Gregory Brady and Steven Brady.

The family will welcome friends from 1 to 1:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, with a memorial celebration of life service to follow. Her ashes will be inurned at North Shore Memory gardens next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hartford Public Library, Wounded Warriors or Defenders of Wildlife.
