Mathew Eric Efting

Mathew Eric Efting, 25, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Monday, July 20, 2020, in Bangor Township.

Mathew, known to many as “Mat Man,” was born Sept. 2, 1994, in St. Joseph, the son of Eric and Tamara (Burfield) Efting.

Mathew was a business partner with his father at Eric Efting Construction. He had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off of his back if you needed it. Most important to him was spending time with his family, which consists of: his father, Eric of Bangor; his mother, Tamara (Ken) McGlothlin; a sister, Elizabeth (Tyler) Ferrell of Pullman; two brothers, William Efting of Kalamazoo and Nicholas McGlothlin of Hartford; and his grandparents, Bill and Wanda Morse of Hartford and Margaret and Dale Wadley of Cadiz, Ky.

Due to the restrictions, cremation has taken place and no public services will be held. Mathew will be placed in Thomas Cemetery with a private family service. Those who would like to may make a donation to the family in Mathew's name. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with arrangements.
