Mary Wanda Phillips

Mary Wanda Phillips, 89, of Coloma passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, in Hartford Township.

Mary was born April 13, 1931. in Pleasant Grove, Ark., the daughter of Robert and Opal (Rhodes) Southard, both of whom precede her in passing. Also preceding her in passing are her husband, George; two sons: Gary and Kenneth; two sisters; and one brother.

Mary was formerly employed at Midwest Timers in Hagar Township. She loved gardening and tending to her flower beds and cooking, but her most important times were spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary is survived by a daughter, Diana Phillips of Hartford; three sons: Michael (Ruth Ann) Phillips of Benton Harbor, Daniel Phillips (Tammy Cobb) of Coloma, and Kevin Phillips of Benton Harbor; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson on the way.

The family will welcome friends from 1 to 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where the service to honor her memory will commence at 2 p.m., with Pastor Lonnie Truelove officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Mary’s name may be made to the Humane Society of Southwest Michigan.
