Mary Louise Kendzior, 94, of Hartford, was called home to heaven on Friday, June 13, 2014, at Hanson Hospice Center, Stevensville.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford. Deacon Arthur Morsaw and Monsignor Leo Cartagena will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. Mary will be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hartford. The family has requested in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Area Agency on Aging of Western Michigan. Mary was born on Feb. 25, 1920, in Hartford, the daughter of Enos and Bessie (Everhart) Walker. She attended the Twin City Beauty College, received her license to practice and then owned and operated her own beauty shop in her home for many years. Mary was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Junior Mother's Club and in the 50's and 60's worked on the community Blossomtime floats.
Mary is survived by her son, William Kendzior of Hartford; two daughters-in-law: Gloria Kendzior of Hartford and Vivian Kendzior of Oshtemo; a sister-in-law, Eleanor Walker of South Haven; seven grandchildren: Jean Kendzior of Hartford, Robert (Yvonne) Kendzior of Zachary, La., Jerry Kendzior of Battle Creek, Dan (Feiyan) Smith of Portage, Lisa Smith of Kalamazoo, Eric Kendzior of Colorado Springs, Co., and Jaclyn (Brian) Csonka of Dearborn Heights; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mary was preceded in passing by her husband, John Kendzior; two sons: Robert and Thomas Kendzior; three brothers: Mike, Lloyd and Art Walker, and granddaughter, Kimberly Kendzior.
