Mark Stephen Nichols, 54, of Decatur passed away suddenly Aug. 12, 2021, at home.
Mark was born Sept. 19, 1966, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Paul and Elnora (Kerrish) Nichols, both of whom precede him in passing.
Mark served his country honorably in the U.S. Marines. He was a simple man, who was a diehard sports lover, avidly following the Pittsburgh Steelers, Detroit Lions, Detroit Tigers, and the University of Michigan. He also loved listening to music, especially anything with rock and roll. He loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mark is survived by a sister, Shirley Nichols; nephews and niece: Kellan Nichols, Corey Nichols, Joey Lopez, Kristina Lopez, and Noey Lopez; and great-nephews and niece: Renly Lopez; Isabella Lopez, Philip Lopez and John Lopez.
Mark has been cremated, and a memorial service to honor his memory will commence at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, with military rites to be performed by the North Berrien Military Rites Team.
