Marjorie Lynn Emmons

February 2, 1953 — June 24, 2016

Marjorie Lynn Emmons was born Feb. 2, 1953, in Benton Harbor. She passed away at the age of 63, on June 24, 2016, at her home in Lawrence Township.

She was the daughter of Wallace and Ervadeen (Swoap) Harmon, both of whom precede her in passing. Marjorie was also preceded by her husband, Jack Emmons, and a brother, James Harmon.

Lynn as she was called by everyone who knew her was a very loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She retired from DuWells after many years of employment. She enjoyed watching and feeding the deer that would come in her back yard, but the most precious times were spent with her family.

Marjorie is survived by three sons: Kevin Birkhead of South Haven, Gary (Nicole) Birkhead and Tony (Mandi) Birkhead both of Lawrence; four stepchildren: Judith (Kelly) Blackston, Sherry (Lindell) Emmons, Jacky Emmons, and Jack (Heather) Emmons Jr. all of Bangor; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Joyce (Chuck) Ball of Lawrence and Diane (Lonnie) Johnson of Hartford; two brothers: Larry Harmon of Hartford and Steve (Colleen) Harmon of Lawrence, and numerous other family members and friends.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m. Saturday, July 9, at the New Day Church in Watervliet, immediately followed by a memorial celebration of life service. Pastor Scott Saylor will officiate. Following the service a luncheon will be held at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
