Maria De Lourdes Aviles Armenta

Maria De Lourdes Aviles Armenta, 62, of Decatur passed away Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017, at her son's home.

Maria was born Aug. 20, 1954, in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico, the daughter of Isabel and Dominga (Armenta) Lopez, both of whom preceded her in passing. She was also preceded in passing by a sister.

Maria took care of many children at her own home. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. She loved cooking, cleaning and just taking care of the kids.

Maria is survived by her husband, Apolinar; children: Martha (Jesus) Aviles, Javier (Teresa) Aviles, Eva Aviles, Jorge Aviles, Daniel Aviles, Alfredo Aviles, Alejandro (Matilde) Aviles, Grissel Aviles and David (Tanesha) Aviles; 25 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters; and one brother.

The family will welcome friends from 6-7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Hartford, where the service to celebrate her life will be celebrated at 7 p.m. The Rev. German Perez-Diaz will serve as celebrant. Following the service, Maria will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
