Maria Cristina Acevedo Vasquez

Maria Cristina Acevedo Vasquez was born Aug. 24, 1976, in San Juanito de Escobedo, Jal., Mexico, the daughter of Victoriano and Rocina Acevedo.

Maria passed away on Monday, May 4, 2020, at her home, at the age of 43, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was formerly employed at Shafer Lake Fruit Exchange in Hartford. In her spare time, Maria enjoyed playing the guitar and singing, especially at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, where she attended. However, her most precious moments were spent with her son, Ian Emiliano Vasquez, who survives, along with her parents and five siblings: Martha Hernandez, Rumaldo Acevedo, Hector Acevedo, Laura Acevedo and Nancy Acevedo; and many other family members and friends.

Maria was preceded in passing by a sister, Alma Consuelo Acevedo; and a brother, Victor Acevedo.

Due to the restrictions in place, a private Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Friday, May 8, at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hartford. Father German Perez-Diaz will serve as celebrant. Following the service, cremation will take place and her cremains will be taken back to Mexico for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. The Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, is helping the family with arrangements.
