Mari Alice Atchley

April 25, 1949 — July 20, 2015

Mari Alice Atchley, 66, of Hartford was carried home to heaven Monday, July 20, 2015.

A celebration of life service to honor Mari's life will be at 10 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 2, at Keeler Church of God. Pastor Boyd Saylor will officiate. As to Mari's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a memorial fund (savings account) set up at Chemical Bank for her beloved grandson, Carter. Memorial condolences for the family can be left at http://www.calvin-leonardfh.com.

Mari was born April 25, 1949, in St. Joseph, the daughter of Perry and Alene (Whalen) Rowe. Growing up, she worked very hard on the farm. Even though it was a hard life, she found enjoyment in nature and fulfillment in the harvest of a good crop. She loved listening to music, quilting, dancing, bird watching, attending church and, most important, her close-knit family.

Mari is survived by her husband, Henry, whom she married July 13, 1980; a daughter, Autumn Atchley (Sean Donovan) and her grandson, Carter Donovan, both of Hartford; a daughter, Wanda Tucker, son-in-law Jake and grandson Matthew of Edwardsburg; a daughter, Sally Miller, son-in-law Mark, and grandchildren Katie, Danilynn and Lucas of Elkhart, Ind.; a daughter, Vicki, with grandchildren Heather and Chelsea; and a son, James Atchley and daughter-in-law Valerie of Indiana, along with grandchildren Nathan, Tyler, Jessie and Barrett. Mari also leaves behind many other family members that will greatly miss her.

May she fly high on that mountaintop, dancing to the tune of angels.
