Luis Aranda, 70, of Hartford was born May 20, 1954 in Weslaco, Texas, the son of Victor and Maria (DeLaCruz) Aranda, both of whom preceded him in passing. Also preceding him in passing were two brothers: Pedro and Romaldo.


Luis passed away on Sunday, Jan. 26, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.


Luis was formerly employed at Hilltop Orchards in Hartford.


Luis leaves behind to cherish his memory, his four children: Sherry Stewart of Watervliet, Luis (Juana) Aranda of San Benito, Texas, Nano (Erica) Aranda of Titusville, Fla., and Cristela (Jose) Vasques of Hartford. He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and nine siblings: Lydia Aranda, Ricardo Aranda, Enrique Aranda, Daniel Aranda, Josefina (Guillermo) Hernandez, Irma (Tomas) Cruz, Gerardo Aranda, Javier (Patricia) Aranda and Jaime Aranda; a special niece, Maria (Stacy) Quinn; along with numerous other family members and friends.


There will be a celebration of Luis’ life at 11 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 3, at the Hartford United Methodist Church with Pastor Douglas Tipken officiating. Luis will be laid to rest in Hamilton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family. The Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford is assisting the family with the services.
