Linda Rae Ament

Linda Rae Ament, 66, of Lawrence was born April 28, 1948, in Kittson, Minn. She was the daughter of Raymond Meagher and Helen (Skjordal) Wright. Linda passed away suddenly at her home Sunday, May 4, 2014. Linda was preceded in passing by her father and a brother, Wayne Wright.

Linda is survived by her husband, Mike; a daughter, Julie (David) Beeching of Lawrence; a son, David (Melissa) Ament of Salt Lake City, Utah; three grandchildren: Nicole (Alan) Colgren of Hartford, Brandon Beeching of Lawrence and Aidan Ament of Salt Lake City; a great-grandchild, Easton Colgren of Hartford; her mothers, Helen (Arlo) Wright of Arizona and Juanita Meagher of Hartford; two brothers, Gary (Ida) Meagher of Hartford and Edward Meagher of Watervliet; and two sisters, Tina Garcia of Hartford and Dawn (Paul) Reich of Arizona.

A time of fellowship will be from 6-7 p.m. Thursday, May 8, 2014, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, followed by a celebration of her life. As per her wishes, cremation will follow the service and her ashes will be interred in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hartford at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Linda's name be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Heart Association. Linda was a 1966 graduate of Hartford High School. After high school, Linda went to work with the FBI. She was also formerly employed as a secretary with the Van Buren/Cass Health Department, Visiting Nurses and Hospice of Kalamazoo, Home Health Care of Greater Van Buren County and Watervliet Community Hospital.
