Lewis Earl Pritchard

Lewis Earl Pritchard, 81, of Hartford passed away suddenly on Monday, Jan. 16, 2023, at home. He was reunited with his beloved wife, Brenda, of 52 years, who he was devoted to, even after her passing on Aug. 27, 2012.

Lewis was born on June 2, 1941, in Dell, Ark., the son of Homer and Minnie (Barrett) Pritchard. He was formerly employed with the Friday Tractor Company. Upon retirement from Friday’s, he spent the remainder of his years farming, which was a true passion for him. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, fishing and carpentry. He never greeted anyone without a simple smile or joke, was a prankster at heart and always had a story to tell. He was a joy to everyone and was never negative!

Lewis is survived by children: Penny (Dave) Brown, Ginger Tate, Robert Pritchard; grandchildren: Amanda (Derek) Banic, Julie (Bryan) Dolphin, Jimmy Miller; a great-granddaughter on the way (on Lewis’ birthday); a sister-in-law, Lavonne Streeter; and his best friend and neighbor, Larry Harmon.

Lewis is preceded in passing by his parents; a grandson, Christopher Lewis Drake; four brothers: Bud Pritchard, Woodrow Pritchard, Leon Pritchard and James Pritchard; and four sisters: Amy Treadway, Onamae Taylor, Iduma Owens and Imogene Owens.

The family will welcome friends from noon - 1 p.m., on Saturday, Jan. 21, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford, where the service to honor his memory will commence at 1 p.m., with Pastor Boyd Saylor officiating.
