Laura Mae Campbell

Laura Mae Campbell, of Benton Harbor, was born Oct. 21, 1933, in Walkerton, Ind., the daughter of Frank and Lela (Ford) Campbell. Laura passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at the Hanson Hospice Center, in Stevensville, at the age of 89.

Laura was formerly employed as the food service manager at Whitcomb Towers for over 35 years. She attended the Hope Lutheran Church in Hartford, and enjoyed helping her church family with all their projects. She also did quilting and watching all kinds of birds; however, she especially loved spending time with all of her family and friends.

Laura is survived by her sister, Joyce Cable of Benton Harbor; six grandchildren: William (Sheila) Holley of Ohio, Keith (Patti) Henagan of Michigan, Jason of Michigan, Jami, Kevin and Brian Orr, all of California; five great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other family members and friends.

Laura was preceded in death by a son, Larry Orr; a daughter, Betty J. Henagan; two grandsons, Derrick Henagan and Kevin Lombardo; a great-grandson, Cane Henagan; her parents; a sister, Frances Newton; and a brother, James Campbell.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, and from 10 a.m. until the time of service, at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 15, at the Hope Lutheran Church in Hartford. Pastor Frederick S. Adrian will officiate. Laura will be laid to rest at North Shore Memory Gardens, Coloma. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Laura’s name may be made to Caring Circle Hospice.
