Kenneth Wayne Cook was born Dec. 12, 1945 in Flint, Mich. to Gilbert and Elsie (Pointer) Cook. He departed this world on Thursday, April 21, 2016.
He and his wife, Marie, whom he married on Oct. 29, 1965 lived in Dowagiac, where they raised their five children. Kenneth was known for going around and finding what the family called junk, but to Kenneth it was money-making product.
His wife, Marie, survives, along with a daughter; Lisa (Wayne) Ottinger, two sons; William Cook and Kenny Cook Jr. all of Dowagiac, three grandkids, a sister; Dorlene (Thomas) Neeley of Covert and a brother; Virgil (Alice) Michael Cook of Hartford.
Kenneth was preceded in death by a son; Dennis Cook, a daughter; Brenda Cook, a grandson; Brandan Cook, his parents and two brothers; Earl Cook and Dennis Cook.
The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, April 27 from 9 to 10 a.m, at the Keeler Church of God (County Road 687), followed by the service at 10 a.m. to honor his memory. Pastor Boyd Saylor will officiate. He will be laid to rest in Keeler Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the family.
