Kathryn Violet Bauer

Kathryn Violet (Brady) Bauer, 44 of Alton, Ill., passed away suddenly Monday, Aug. 19, 2013, at her home.


Kathryn was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Watervliet, the daughter of Richard D. and Anita M. Brady. Her husband, Gary; her father, Richard; and her grandparents preceded her in death.


Kathryn graduated from South Haven High School in 1986. She and her husband, Gary, were truck drivers by trade, often driving together. They drove for Transport Services of Illinois. She loved traveling, especially her trips to Cancun and Jamaica and the many camping and canoeing trips the family took.


Kathryn is survived by her mother, Anita M. Jensen, and her stepfather, Ronald Jensen, of Hartford; two brothers, Gregory Brady of Hartford and Steven (Dawn) Brady of Lawrence; two sisters: Lorre (Harley) Darnell of Hale, Mich.; and Janette (Jim) Ashley of Lawrence; four grandchildren; two stepsons, Tim Bauer and Eric Bauer; a stepbrother, Bradley Jensen of Hartford; three stepsisters: Ronelle Jensen of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Carla (Norman) Nelson of Seattle, Wash.; and Brenda Bard of Hartford; numerous other family members; her best friend, Theresa (Glen) Jacobsen-MacArthur; and many other friends.


The family will receive friends from 1-1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where her memorial celebration will be at 1:30 p.m. The family has asked that memorial donations be made to any humane society or any other charity of your choice.
