Joyce Lynn Ogden-Stinchcomb

Joyce Ogden-Stinchcomb passed away on Nov. 26, 2012, at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo.


Joyce was born in Benton Harbor on Jan. 2, 1956, to Alfred and Amelia (Molly) Ogden and attended Lawrence Public Schools, graduating in 1974. She continued with her education, earning an associate's degree in accounting from Davenport University. Joyce's first job was in Hartford at Zeller's Drive-In, where she worked as a car hop. She began working for the Van Buren ISD on Sept. 3, 1976, and was a dedicated employee for 37 years, affectionately known as the "Goddess of Guidance."


Joyce married Bill Stinchcomb on June 23, 1979. Joyce had a love for her animals and her flower gardens.
Surviving is her husband, Bill Stinchcomb; daughter, Shannon Stinchcomb; and sister, Judy Baldwin.


A memorial service will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, at the Van Buren Conference Center, 490 South Paw Paw Street, Lawrence.
