John Erland Obermesik, Jr.

John Erland Obermesik Jr. was born May 24, 1961, in Watervliet, one of four children born to John Sr. and Donna (Wismer) Obermesik, both of whom precede him in passing.

John passed away suddenly at Lakeland Medical Center, St. Joseph on Friday, Dec. 7, 2018, at the age of 57. On July 6, 1982, John was united in marriage with Tami Walker. He was currently employed at Vail Rubber for five years, worked for Quality Packaging for over twenty years and for JVIS Manufacturing. John loved being outdoors, especially when he was hunting, fishing and working in his yard. He was a real jokester, was a little league coach for over ten years, however, his most precious time was spent with his wife and son.

The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Calvin Funeral Home, Hartford. A celebration of life service to honor John's memory will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at the funeral home, with Les Sexton officiating. John is survived by his wife, Tami; a son, Nicholas (Allison) Obermesik of Benton Harbor; two sisters: Patricia (Dan) McKean, Linda (Bob) Kling, and a brother, David Obermesik all of Hartford, along with numerous other family members and friends.
