John Edward Klann, Jr.

John Edward Klann Jr. was born on March 1, 1955, in Watervliet, the son of John and Betty Klann. John passed away suddenly at home on Sunday, Nov. 12, 2017. He was preceded in death by one brother.

John is survived by a son, John (Heaven) Klann III of Hartford; a daughter, Abby (Benjamin Light) Klann of Benton Harbor; three grandchildren: John Klann IV, John Farrell Jr. and Gabriell Klann; his parents, four brothers and one sister.

John was a volunteer at Stepping Stones of South Haven, where they knew him as “Big John.” He loved doing any kind of work with his hands. In his spare time, he loved to read, was an avid collector of music and loved watching older movies, however, his most enjoyable times were spent with his grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted the Calvin Funeral Home of Hartford with arrangements.
