Jerry Lee Edwards, 69, of Lawrence, passed away suddenly Tuesday, March 10, 2015, at his home.


The family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 13, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. A celebration of life service to honor Jerry's memory will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 14, at the funeral home. Jerry will be laid to rest in Hill Cemetery in Lawrence, with military rites by the Hess-Eastman, Post 174 of Lawrence. Jerry was born Dec. 10, 1945, in Hornersville, Mo., the son of Elmer and Mary (Trosper) Edwards. He served his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was formerly employed at the Watervliet Paper Mill, and Georgia Pacific in Kalamazoo. He was a car enthusiast, loved the outdoors and enjoyed feeding all the deer that would come to his back yard.


Jerry married the former Joy Fitz, on July 19, 1969, who survives along with two daughters; Sheila (Chad) Farrington of Portage and Amy Edwards of Hartford; son, Bryan (Frankie Alm) of Lawrence; three grandchildren: Ty and KyLeigh Farrington and Ameliana Ledesma; two sisters: Virginia (Leroy) Clubb of St. Louis, and Glenda Flanery of Kerrville, Texas, along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.


Jerry was preceded in passing by his parents; brother, William D. Edwards and sister, Virgie Fleeman.
