Jerry Dean Conklin

Jerry Dean Conklin, 71, of Lawrence passed away Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at Centrica Rose Arbor Place, Kalamazoo.

Jerry was born Dec. 3, 1952, in Paw Paw, the son of Melvin and Phyllis (Wright) Conklin, both of whom precede him in passing. Also preceding him in passing are a granddaughter, Emersyn Conklin; and a brother, James Conklin.

Jerry was proud to be a butcher by trade. He loved watching NASCAR races, and traveled to many of the tracks on the schedule, in his motor home, as he loved traveling the country.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Marie; a son, Corey (Tonya) Conklin of Lawrence; a daughter, Christa Conklin of Palm Bay, Fla.; three step-sons: Michael (Georgie) Palacio, Rob (Tina) Palacio and Pete Conklin; four grandchildren: Sean Sullivan, Ashleigh (Robert) Carver, Angelina Palacio and Hunter Conklin; three great-grandchildren: Jackson Sullivan, Waylon Carver and Wrenlee Carver; and a sister, Janice Martin of Lawrence.

As per Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 19 at Lawrence Township Hall.
