James Ray Preston

James Ray Preston, 53, of Arlington Township, passed away suddenly, Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 at his home.

James was born Dec. 17, 1961 in Paw Paw, the son of James and Frances (Beck) Preston.

James was a loving husband, father and papa. James was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, passing on his successful legacy to his family and friends. James was one of those people who had a green thumb when it came to his garden, which provided his family with fresh vegetables all year long.

James married the former Lorraine Stawiszynski on June 14, 1986. She survives, along with their daughter, Jill (Thomas) Eaton of Great Lakes, Ill.; four grandchildren, Paul, Gwyneth, Brady and James Eaton; his mother, Frances Neidenbach; and six siblings.

James was preceded in passing by his son, James Lewis Preston on Nov. 1, 2013; his father, James Preston; and a brother, Tony Bullard.

As to his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, with a time of remembrance and sharing of memories to start at 6:30 at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations in James' honor be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
