Jacqueline Hooten Reed Cress

Jacqueline Hooten Reed Cress, 43, of Elkhart, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2024, at her daughter's home in Keeler, Michigan, surrounded by her family.

The family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, at the Calvin Funeral Home in Hartford, where a celebration of life service to honor Jaci's memory will follow. Pastor Benjamin Williamson of the Hartford Bible Church will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Grace Christian School. Jaci, as she was known, was born on Dec. 10, 1980, in Elkhart, the daughter of Mitchell and Gertrude (Jereczek) Yoder. She attended Concord Southside, Concord Junior High and Concord High School. Growing up, she loved being the center of attention and carried that trait into adulthood. She was loved by many and had a big heart. She loved to be surrounded by her children, husband and father. She was always willing to help anyone who asked, even if she had nothing for herself. She always loved having the last word.

Jaci was united in marriage with Scott Cress. He survives along with her children: Dylen M. Howton, Anique M. Hooten, Dezirae A. Hooten and Donovan L. Hooten; parents: Mitchell R. Yoder, Trudy Jereczek, Robin Stacy and Andrea Manning; and two brothers, Brody CD Yoder and Aiden L. Manning-Yoder. She is also survived by nephews: Christopher, Gracin, Gaige and Jaxon, adopted mom, Kandi Gall; aunt, Kris Garris; and cousins: Dustin A. Garris, Ashley and Austin Garris.

Jaci was preceded in passing by husbands, Desmond L. Hooten and Bradley Regis Reed; and grandparents, Wendell and Margaret Yoder.
